It’s been a long time coming. Due to Covid-19 our activities have been constrained by government guidance and a need to safeguard our clients, ourselves and the communities within which we work. However, from July 1st we’ll be able to offer a range of family and group friendly adventure days and activities throughout the Yorkshire Dales.
Go Rock Climbing, Bouldering or Abseiling with Lupine Adventure.
The iconic cliffs of Yorkshire have attracted climbers for generations. You can climb on them, and if you like abseil down them, with one of our instructors. No experience is necessary.
We will provide everything you need in the need in the way of equipment. All you need to do is book, and we will arrange a trip designed to provide you with the best possible experience on a date suitable for you.
Rock climbing adventures are suitable for families, small groups (currently up to 5, in line with current social distancing guidelines) or as a solo adventure. We hope to increase this to 1:8 as soon as it is safe to do so.
A full days climbing adventure at a venue such as Brimham Rocks, Almscliffe or Ilkley for a group costs £210.
Hill and Mountain Skills Courses
Develop the skills for independent hill and mountain walking on one of our Hill and Mountain Skills courses. We are a provider for Mountain Training of their Hill and Mountain Skills courses.
We have a Hill Skills course on the 15-16 August based in Ilkley on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. This course is aimed at the complete novice and will help you develop the navigation and other skills that you need to walk safely on hill and moorland.
We have a Mountain Skills course on the 19-20 September based in Ambleside in the Lake District. This course is aimed at people who some experience walking across the moorland, hills and mountains of the UK. It will help you learn and develop the skills needed to confidently and competently tackle walking the mountains of England, Scotland and Wales.
Guided walks for families and friends, and MicroAdventures
We can put together a bespoke adventure for you and your family or friends. Perhaps you want to walk the Wharfedale 3 Peaks of Birks Fell, Buckden Pike or Great Whernside. Maybe you would like a morning exploring a wildflower rich limestone pavement, followed by an afternoon roped scramble up the famous Goredale Scar waterfall and an abseil down the flank of Malham Cove?
A guide for the day for these types of adventures costs £210.
If you are really up for a challenge you have a go at the Yorkshire 3 peaks.
Alternatively you might enjoy a MicroAdventure; a night out under the stars at a remote campsite. Arrive late, after work, enjoy an evening meal cooked on a stove, have a guided walk up on the fells, have a decent sleep, head home for a hearty breakfast and the warm glow of satisfaction at squeezing the best out of your time. A guide, your camping fees and equipment, and evening meal costs £406 for a group of 5 people. Get in touch and we will organise your bespoke MicroAdventure.
Visit our dedicated Yorkshire page for more ideas or get in touch to talk about your ideas.
Caving and Spotholing
The Yorkshire Dales is one of the premier caving regions in the country with a wealth of underground passages and chambers to explore.
Although caving can involve enclosed spaces, equally there are spacious passages and airy chambers and there remains lots of opportunity for a fun time below ground, for small groups of beginners, around Ribblehead, Chapel-le-Dale and Kingsdale. Perhaps you’d enjoy “spotholing”, an exploration of the surface features of the Dales, enjoying the above ground scenery, with short forays into the entrances of caves. An enjoyable taster of the “up and under”.
A days caving or spotholing for your group costs £225
