LUPINE ADVENTURE CO-OPERATIVE DofE Professionals Newsletter February 18
Just a short newsletter this time and one a bit out of the ordinary. We normally only get in touch when we've updated some resources and in a way we have but that is a bit incidental. This is posting is just news and views. I doubt we'll do this often as we're usually too busy with the day to day expedition cycle but as it's winter we've had a bit more reflection time.
After 10 years in business we had our first Mountain Rescue call out last summer. We did the obvious review and reported the findings to our staff. We also thought we'd write it up for public digestion in case others find it useful.
£3million fund to benefit the lives of young people
In case you didn't notice it the DofE announced a £3 million fund to support more young people accessing and doing their #DofE. Currently almost 50,000 disadvantaged young people start their DofE each year, the charity’s ambition is to increase this to 70,000 each year by 2021. The new partnership is made possible thanks to £40 million of joint funding from government and the National Lottery Big Lottery Fund to create the #iwill fund. Please contact your local DofE office to discuss the specifics of the fund, how it can be used, and how to apply. You can find your nearest here: www.dofe.org/offices/
