Lots of updates and news
As the expedition season is now over we've been extremely busy updating our resources and website as well as looking at what other services we could offer. The things we'd like to tell you about fit into 3 categories
- Updated Resources
- Reduced costs for Full DofE Programmes
- We can now run Basic Expedition Leader (BEL) courses
Emergency procedures cards.
We got into a discussion in a Facebook group with with some people who use our cards and they suggested that a few more scenarios would be useful. We've therefore added a few more scenarios and a few more cards to fit with the new scenario's. As I didn't want there to be even more actual cards in the pack given to the students I've also combined a few of the cards (blow your whistle and continue to blow your whistle are now on one card as is the reference to getting out warm clothing for casualties and non-casualties.)
If you have any feedback on this change or ideas for better scenario's then do get in touch.
You can download the updated cards from http://www.lupineadventure.co.uk/downloads/dofe-downloads.html They are item number 3 on the List.
We have also added a page on how to fold up a tent to the course notes document. This is another mild obsession of mine (along with how to walk up hill efficiently). I've written a page on THE ABSOLUTE BEST way to fold a tent. The written word with a few photos is not really the ideal medium for instruction on this task so we'll be making a video and referencing it on the page in the near future as there is so much more I can say on the subject that wouldn't fit on an A4 sheet :-)
You can download the updated course notes from http://www.lupineadventure.co.uk/downloads/dofe-downloads.html They are item number 1 on the list.
We've taken a look at our full DofE programme costs and worked out how we could make some efficiencies and therefore bring down the price. We've updated the programme costs page accordingly. The update of this page is also a lot simpler and will be easier to keep up to date.

(AKA Level 3 Certificate in Basic Expedition Leadership)
The Basic Expedition Leader (BEL) Award qualifies you to train and supervise DofE groups in the kind of lowland environment that Bronze and many Silver group tend to find themselves in. Lupine Adventure Co-op are now a provider of this course and can run them in house for your school (or group of schools) or you can join in an open course.
We've started to put together a web page and course programme. It is early days and the page isn't live on the site yet but you can take a look here http://www.lupineadventure.co.uk/basic-expedition-leader.html
If you can help point us to good dates and times of year to run the training and assessment that would be great. Also if you want to book us exclusively for your school or group of Academies then please do go ahead.
